DOES THIS PERSON HATE ME?

I’ve closed comments on all posts except today’s because a lowlife is inundating me with hundreds of spam comments. I don’t have any kind of safeguards or comment verification set up, and I’m getting tired of putting little checkmarks in the boxes to delete all the comments—not to mention deleting the emails that get sent to my inbox every time I receive a new message—so I’m temporarily shutting down comments on all previous posts. If you have any feedback, please visit my About page and use the email address listed there.

  1. Oh, honey. I FEEL YOUR PAIN. I’ve been closing comments on old posts left and right. The spam is KILLING me.

Over two hundred in just a couple hours. That’s RIDICULOUS.

I hope you figure out what to do…because we dearly love to comment. :)

  2. that sucks. can you put in one of those things that verifies that the commenter is human? the hard-to-read-numbers-and-letters thing? that works well on blogger.

  3. I was thinking the same thing as Jen M. Word verification along with only letting registered users post has been a great help on my blog in terms of deterring spam and nonsense.

  5. The word verification might be a bit of a nuisance for commentors, but it worked for me regarding getting rid of the spam.

  7. Yipe! Use the capcha thing if you have to. I have to do that puzzle all over the internet when I visit friends, so I’m used to it. It apparently stops most spam comments.

  9. Spam sucks, indeed. I wish there was a way for spammers to get kicked in the shins every time they spammed. That would teach ‘em.

  10. A new look! Wow! Looks great.

Sorry I haven’t been around. We moved last Saturday. Life’s a total chaos since I have not only 10000 boxes to unpack: I have school exams too. I’m a little stressed. A little. :D
