1) I have an appointment this morning at 9:30 to donate blood. This will be the first of three times (possibly more, but only three are required) to fulfill #3 on my 101 Things list. I used to give blood regularly when I worked for a different employer because our building was so large the blood drives came to us. I didn’t mind taking an hour out of my day to go downstairs and relax (albeit with a big needle stuck in my arm).
2) It took me a while to get the title and tags for my new/used car straight, then I was notified about paying for a new city decal for the windshield, so the sticker was just mailed to me last week–and I promptly lost it. (I think I must have thrown it out with the paper recyclables.) When I called to see about getting a new one I was told to go in person to City Hall, show my ID, and pay a $1 replacement fee. It’s more inconvenient than anything else. I’ll take care of it sometime next week while I’m still off during the mornings and have time to get things done.
3) I’d never seen anyone play the Nintendo Wii until just recently. I didn’t realize the games were so interactive. It’s funny to watch people waving the remote and pretending to play tennis, baseball, bowling…jumping up and down, squatting…depending on the game. Even when those people are drunk and you’re not, it’s extremely entertaining.
4) Why is it that my eyebrows can look perfectly groomed, but when I leave my tweezers in a different location for a few days and forget to pick them up, my eyebrows rapidly become un-groomed? Every time I looked in a mirror those stray hairs were all I could see.
5) On the agenda for this weekend: clothes washing, apartment cleaning, grocery shopping. Fun stuff! But I might decide to reward myself with some wine and a good meal. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

You have a nice weekend too.
Mine will be sleeping in to get rid of my hangover -> tonight it’s my farewell party from Essent. A BBQ (although a storm is expected) and a dinner with mother-in-law.
Should all be fun
Dear zandria. Hope you have a great weekend too! I’ve never seen Nintendo Wii either but know people go nuts over it… Sounds rather entertaining (for the spectators!)
You should definitely treat yourself some this wknd! I plan on having a ladies night out tonight, tomorrow errands, shopping and starting a quilt (which could be trouble, as it’s my first one).
Good luck with the blood giving! Such an awesome thing.
Funny you should mention the Wii – I’ve been meaning to write a post about it but haven’t had a chance. My husband and I bought a Wii a few months ago after visiting friends and playing it with their kids – yes, after playing with a 9-year-old and a 5-year-old. My parents played it when they were in town recently and when they went back home promptly went to every store in town and bought one of their own. I think it’s amazing – pretty cool that it can appeal to everyone from age 5 to 65…
The best place to really check out your eyebrows is an airplane bathroom. Strange but true. Then the random hairs I see preoccupy me until I land.
Wii is awesome, but yeah, you do feel a bit silly playing it, waving and wiggling all around. I have not tried it drunk yet, but maybe I will try that this weekend! hehe
I would love to give blood because I’m Type O Negative (the universal donor). But, the last time I did it I passed out cold. It was recommended that I don’t do it anymore.
Go read HP. I tagged you for something yesterday. It’s dumb, so feel free to ignore it…
Where do you go to give blood? I haven’t done it in years but I totally should because I am one of those people who does not get grossed out by it at all. Lay down for 10 mins and get fed cookies? I’m there!
Has to be done, I apologize in advance:
The Wii-mote makes it easy to create Miis (the teeny people to represent “heâ€s and “sheâ€s). Whee! We all see Wiis and give pleas not to show apathy. Hee-hee!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I have heard those Wii’s can be quite dangerous if somone else is in the room. With all the stories my husband’s told me about the various injuries he hears about, I told him if he’s trying to convince me we should get one–it’s not working. LOL Fortunately, he doesn’t want one. Yet.
I am going to try once again to find shoes for work. With my vacation ending today, it would be nice if I actually had a decent pair of shoes. I hate shoe shopping and so far haven’t had any luck.
I got my hair cut and colored yesterday. I go to a place where you get who you get, which probably isn’t the wisest choices, but it’s affordable. The lady who did my hair was new and had to be instructed just about step by step by a more experienced person. I which I had the balls to just ask for the more experienced person, but I’m just too nice. It looks okay. The color ran and so the highlights are multi-colored–blondish, orangish, brownish. No one’s laughed or stared too long at me yet (well, except for the man on the elevator yesterday who grinned and leered–but I don’t think that was because of my hair). Why am I telling you this? LOL Sorry, Zandria.
Oooh, good wine, good food. Sounds great! I plan to cook myself a steak tomorrow. I’d love to have a glass of wine but I live by myself and I could never finish a whole bottle. Well, I could but I don’t think my neighbors would appreciate me getting drunk and running around the front yard naked.
allot of my friends are video gamers and it dose look funny to see them play the wii. it seems to me that DDR would be far superior as an actual sport since it gives its players a full cardiovascular aerobic exercise . thou at lest the wii has gotten kids of the couch at last .thou I still have a deep distaste for all things that relate to video games . I don’t think playing a fake version of sports indoors where you put forth no real effect as far as strenuous exercise goes will make up for the fresh air and sun shine out side
I hear you on the whole eye brow thing
