If I didn’t have a carefully honed playlist ready to go on my iPod when it came time to do cardio, I honestly believe I wouldn’t be able to get through it — or at least not at the same intensity and duration. I’ve looked at other people’s playlists in the past, and usually I see pretty wide mix of music. There’s not so much variety on mine, but that’s the way I like it. I have a few rap songs thrown in here and there, but I’ve found what works best for me is a hard beat — especially if you add some good, dramatic screaming and yelling.
I’ve experimented with a variety of different playlists over the past 4-5 months, and sometimes when my regular playlist gets too stale I’ll go in and take some songs out and move different ones in. But I do have a core list of songs that tend to stay put; they’re guaranteed to get me moving.
These are the songs I listen to most often:
Falling Away From Me, Korn
Coming Undone, Korn
Wait and Bleed, Slipknot
Let the Bodies Hit the Floor, Drowning Pool
Smack My Bitch Up, Prodigy
You Don’t Know, Eminem
More Human Than Human, Rob Zombie
Dragula, Rob Zombie
Never Gonna Stop, Rob Zombie
Chop Suey, System of a Down
Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying Away From You, Jay-Z & Linkin Park
Come With Me, Puff Daddy & Jimmy Page
I Dare You, Shinedown
What kind of music gets you moving?
