My friends Dana and Stacy came for a visit on Saturday. My building is set back behind some others, so it’s hard to read the number unless you know where to look. Because of this, I went outside to wait on the sidewalk when I knew they were only a few minutes away. About ten minutes later, still not seeing them, I called Dana.
Apparently, they had parked. And were walking up a hill. They weren’t too far from my place.
A hill? My street is pretty flat. They shouldn’t be walking up a hill.
“Where exactly did you park?”
“On South ___.”
“What?! That’s my old address! You sent a Christmas card to my new address just a few weeks ago. And I told you that I live in Old Town! Do your current surroundings look anything like Old Town?”
Luckily, they weren’t too far away, just in another part of Alexandria, so they arrived at the correct location about 15 minutes later.
Here are Stacy and I, eating lunch at the Austin Grill.
The two of us again, at the waterfront behind the Torpedo Factory Art Center.
And all three of us together:
(Thanks to Dana for taking and sharing the photos.)
