101 Things, Month 17

I went through and counted the number of things I’ve completed so far — I’ve finished 60 out of the 101 Things on my list, so there are 41 tasks remaining in the next 16 months (the end date is Oct 2, 2009). That’s only a little over 2 tasks per month. I’ve been averaging more than that, but there are a few things on my list that I’m either going to have to edit, or figure out some way to accomplish (like the one about going on a trip where I have to use my passport).

I crossed four things off my list in May.

12. Get a promotion at work that results in a raise

As I’ve said, this development was completely unexpected, but it’s been working out super-well so far.

6. Watch a child for free so the parent(s) can have a break

When I visited my friend Deniece in Tampa earlier this month, I watched her daughter one afternoon so Deniece could take care of some things she needed to do.

100. Visit a Farmer’s Market and make something out of at least 1 of the things I purchase.

I love living so close to the Alexandria Farmer’s Market. My roommate and I walked over last Saturday morning — it was a beautiful day and we had a great time checking out all the vendors. I bought a carton of strawberries and made a fruit salad.

92. Complete a 26-Things Photo Scavenger Hunt

This website was taken down for a number of months after I originally put my list together, but now it’s back up — and this month the 26-things photo theme was to take a photo corresponding to each letter of the alphabet. I’ve taken the photos but haven’t had time to put them all in order, upload them, copy the code into a blog post, and write descriptions for each one. But I should have that together by the time this weekend is up, and I’ll post them as soon as I’m done.

  1. Good for you, Zandria! I need to cross stuff off my own list so I can feel a bit more accomplished. Eh. Maybe later.

  2. My neighbors upstairs recently celebrated their little girl’s one-year b-day and as a gift, I gave them a free night of babysitting and you would’ve thought I’d given them a million dollars, they were so happy!

  5. You may have noticed, I’ve sort of given mine up. I have absolutely no control over the big things in my life and those big things are directly related to my being unable to make any real progress on my list. So, I’m going to let it slide – post about it one more time before it ends and then try again.

You on the other hand are rocking your list. Awesome.

  11. I hate when people comment on amounts of food that people consume. My mom always did this to me growing up (and still does when I am around her) and it contributes to my negative thinking so much. Who’s business is it anyway?

  12. You may be able to finish your list soon because you seem dedicated. I have to do mine too.
