Chris of Rude Cactus emailed me last night with a link to a photo on Flickr. “Hey, is this you,” he asked, “or someone who looks remarkably, exactly like you?”
I wasn’t sure which photo he was referring to, so I clicked on the link. As it turns out? Why yes, it was me. (Photo stolen — with many thanks — from the Flickr photostream of Liz from What Liz Said.)
I went to a blogger meetup Saturday night at the DC home of Janet from Love is Blonde. The guest of honor was RA from Definitely RA. (You may remember that I met RA last summer. I’m proud to hold the distinction of being her first in-person blogger meetup.) Janet and RA were the only two people I’d met in person (there were four other women I didn’t know, but I’ve been reading Legally Heidi for a while and the other girls were a lot of fun, too). Heidi’s the one in the photo with me above. (Other attendees? Jackie and Operation Pink Herring.)
I like this photo better. We were sitting at the dining room table playing The Best Game Ever (we learned the rules courtesy of RA). You have to get your partner to say a particular word/phrase/name/title, and apparently I was doing or saying something funny because the two girls in the background were cracking up.
The only low part of the evening was traveling home later that night. The trains only run every 15-20 minutes that time of night (it was after midnight), and since I inevitably had to wait at the high end of that time frame, and I changed trains from the blue to the yellow line (trying to make it home a little quicker, which didn’t work), and since I had to walk a mile home from the King St metro to my apartment — it took me an hour to get home. In hindsight, I should have just driven my car, but I’m so used to taking the Metro whenever I go into DC now that I didn’t even think about it.

An update on the unidentified bite/rash on my neck: I used Benadryl cream for the first time on it last night, and I can already tell it’s a lot better this morning than it was on Friday. It’s still red, but it’s definitely lighter.
