101 Things, Month 21

I crossed two things off my 101 Things list in September.

44. Ride on a train in the U.S.
I rode on a train several times when I spent a semester in Amsterdam back in 2004, but I’d never done so in the U.S. until a few weeks ago. My car was making strange sounds so I took Amtrak to Richmond and back. The ride there was fine (it was right on time), but the return trip was delayed an hour and a half. Not fun.

41. Post an example of 55-Fiction
I honestly don’t remember why I thought some of these entries were a good idea, but I’m trying to get through them. Here’s a fictional piece of 53 words:

Dave turned to Annie from the driver’s seat.

“I hate you,” he said. “I hope you die in a horrible fire. I hope you never find happiness as long as you live.”

Wordlessly, Annie exited the car. Dave pealed out of the parking lot.

The next night, he called. “I’m sorry.”

“I know.”

  1. Those 53 words are rather… intense. Congrats on knocking off 2 more.

  2. [F]oxymoron: Haha! I know! I thought I’d do something a little unexpected, rather than boring.

  3. I really like that 53 word piece! Those challenges are great.

Also love riding on trains. I wish they were as cheap here in North America as they are in Europe!
