On Monday I spent all day at the BlogHer DC conference. (It actually took place in Bethesda, Maryland — but BlogHer Bethesda doesn’t roll off the tongue as easily, so I can see why they went with “DC.”)
I set my alarm for 5:30am (Eek! An entire hour and a half earlier than my usual 7am wake-up time!) so I could get to the hotel by 7:30. (I was volunteering at the registration desk and live-blogging two of the sessions, so I needed to arrive before the 8am open registration began.)
Every time I attend a BlogHer conference, I’m reminded of how awesome lady-bloggers can be. They impress me with their big ideas, their enthusiasm, their personalities, and their accomplishments. Most of them are genuine, friendly, and incredibly down to earth.
I’d like to give a special shout-out (forgive me if I’m forgetting anyone; this is completely off the top of my head) to a few people I’d previously met — Kristy Sammis, Laurie White, Kris (Not Yet a Wino) [blog no longer active], Goon Squad Sarah — as well as a few new faces — Merry Mishaps, Roni from Roni’s Weigh, and Leslie Bradshaw [blog no longer active].
