Weekend Recap (Halloween!)

The Halloween party at the Hard Rock Café on Friday night was…interesting. There were a lot of people, and a variety of crazy/sexy/scary/baffling costumes. (I saw Superman, and a dude in a pale pink jumpsuit wearing pink pig ears, and a girl dressed up as Christina Aguilera from her Dirrty video — she kept making circles around the bar so people would notice her.)

Here’s a view of the crowd from the second floor:

Zipcode wasn’t feeling well, so she didn’t go — it ended up being me, my friend Tripp, and his friend Ashley. If Zip had been there I probably would have left earlier than I did.

They were short on staff, including bartenders, so we had to stand in line for 45 minutes to get our first drink. (Literally, it was 45 minutes. No exaggeration. I timed it.) I ended up standing in line for 30 minutes and then I walked around while Tripp waited the rest of the time, but STILL…it took 45 minutes for me to get a drink. That’s just insane. (The second drink arrived faster because Tripp was able to locate someone he knew who worked there, but those were only two drinks I had over the course of 2 hours.)

This photo was taken right after I got my oh-so-special 45 Minute Drink (otherwise known as Rum & Diet Coke). You can’t see my glittery, bright blue eyeshadow, but at least you can see the side ponytail. (And no, I had no idea there was a huge Banana-Man standing behind me.)

But at least I was still smiling! (Here I am with Ashley. I look like an Amazon because I was wearing heels.)

  1. I love that Banana Costume. :) And your bright pink dress is amazing!

Being 6′ tall myself, I’m quite used to feeling like an Amazon woman. I once went to a formal dance wearing 3″ heels. I don’t think I’ve ever been stared at that much before or after. It was fun though. And I didn’t trip once!!!
