1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
I’m asked pretty frequently about the origin of my name. I wish I had an exciting answer, but I’ve always been told that it’s something my dad came up with. (Hey, dad, if you’re reading…was this choice inspired by anything, or was it completely off the top of your head?)
2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
Last Thursday night. I’d gone out with some friends after work and had a few drinks, so I didn’t get back to my metro stop in Alexandria until after 10:30pm. I didn’t want to walk the mile home, but I knew my roommate was asleep and I didn’t want to wake her up. I would have taken a cab, but there weren’t any in front of the metro station (which is pretty odd). So I walked home in my dress and black knee-high boots. I started feeling sorry for myself about halfway there, so there was a little bit of crying involved. (I just wanted to be home! Wah!!!)
3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?
I have very neat handwriting if I take the time to do it right, but I’m typing most of the time. My usual signature is a big “Z” followed by unintelligible scrawling.
4. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT?
Not so much when I’m around people who aren’t sarcastic, but I tend to feed off my fellow Sarcasm Lovers when I’m around them.
5. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?
I have steel rods attached to my spine, and I’ve been told that such a jolt wouldn’t be a good idea. So I have an excuse to be a wuss!
6. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?
Not unless I can’t get them off without untying them. I take my shoes off as soon as I walk in the door at home, and I’m impatient.
7. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG?
Stronger than I used to be, but not as strong as I could be.
8. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
Something with either mint or caramel flavor. I’m not a fan of any one particular brand.
9. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?
When it comes to the opposite sex? Eyes and their general build.
10. RED OR PINK?
I’m not really a pink-person. I own more red items than pink, but my favorite colors are black, and various shades of blue and purple.
11. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?
I haven’t had breakfast yet, but I’ve had two cups of coffee and a caramel-nut cluster from a box that someone left on the kitchen counter here at work.
12. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?
Air coming through the vents via the heating system in my building (it doesn’t seem loud unless it cuts off for some reason). Also, my boss is on a conference call so I can hear the sound of a male voice coming through his phone speaker.
13. WHAT DO YOU LIKE LEAST ABOUT YOURSELF?
I wish I were more motivated.

15. DO YOU WEAR CONTACTS?
I wore glasses from age 8-15, and contacts from age 15 until last year when I had laser eye surgery. Some of the best money I ever spent, hands down.
16. WHAT DID YOU WATCH ON TV LAST NIGHT?
Nothing. I was working on a project for my second job. But I watched Manhunters on Tuesday night, per the recommendation of my friend Zipcode.

my parents got my name from a book that apparently cost only 79 cents that they found in a checkout aisle at the grocery store. it’s made me tough. kinda like that Boy Named Sue
is the voice coming out of the speakerphone luscious? snort.
I want to get laser eye surgery so bad! My mom got it like 15 years ago when it first came out and she was so happy with the results. Maybe if I save up enough money and gather some courage I will get it done in the next few years.
