Highlights of the past week:
4/22: I got up half an hour earlier than usual yesterday morning so I could go to the dentist before work. I washed my hair the night before specifically because I didn’t want to get up any earlier than I had to. My normal wake-up time is 7am, which isn’t all that bad compared to other people’s schedules, but it’s quite early enough for me.
4/21: I’m going on a short trip next weekend to Jacksonville, Florida. Yay! My friend Crazy Tripp is going out there for work and offered me a free place to stay if I paid for my plane ticket, so of course I jumped at the opportunity to get out of town for a few days. (I’ve never been there before…only Tampa and Panama City.)
4/21: I wore this dress to work for the first time this week (with a cardigan covering my bare arms, mind you), and I thought it was pretty interesting — apparently my co-workers assume that when I wear a cute (or just “different from normal” outfit), I must have a hot date planned for after work. I was actually happy to be able to respond, “Nope. No plans. Just wanted to wear something different today.”
4/19: I went to Georgetown last Saturday afternoon with a few girlfriends. The next day when I checked my Match.com email, I saw that some guy that I’d exchanged a few emails with last year (but never met) had sent me a message. It said, “I saw you crossing Wisconsin Ave in Georgetown today. I guess you left quite an impression on me.”
My (internal) response: “Freak!” Even if he meant it in a completely nice and non-stalkerish way, he should know better than to tell a girl he’s never met that he saw her on the street. I didn’t answer his email, and I blocked him from being able to contact me again.
4/18: after hanging out in Georgetown, I met up with Zipcode and went to party at Shannon‘s place. Shannon had made some most-delicious sangria…it was a great time.
Zipcode blogs anonymously, so I cropped her out of these photos to protect her identity (it’s thanks to her that I have these photos, as they were taken with her Blackberry). And yes, if any of you guys are friends with me on Facebook, you can see the non-cropped photos there.
I started off looking innocent.
Which segued into some kind of come-hither look.
Then we made silly faces (Zip’s making a funny face, too…I promise).
As you can see, we were very much enjoying the sangria.
Happy weekend, everyone!
