Last week I spent time in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. I didn’t write a single blog post (I was taking a break from writing for BlogHer, too), but I did update Twitter regularly.
Over the course of the six days I spent in those three states, I did a lot of relaxing, driving, and sightseeing. It was the first time I’d taken an entire week off work since I started at my current job over two years ago. I needed the break.
The view from Aunt Cathy & Uncle Jeff’s backyard in Salmon, Idaho.
This swing was my favorite place to sit in the backyard…
…and it looked out over the Salmon River.
It was a great place for contemplation.
Proof that I was in Idaho (with Aunt Cathy).
Proof that I was in Montana (with Kylee, the daughter of one of Cathy’s good friends).
These were taken in Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming).

Looking at your pictures is inspiring me to look at a road trip out west next spring. Looks like a perfect place to turn off the blackberry for a while and find yourself. Consider me jealous.
Great photos. I’ve heard many people really enjoy Montana. It’s on my places to see list someday. Glad you enjoyed the much needed vacation.
