I've lived in a studio before and it actually wasn't as bad as I thought. It took a little getting used to since I lived with someone at that time. If you don't mind me asking, where in Alexandria do you live? I'm down by the Landmark area but thinking of finding a studio instead, downgrading from this 2-BR since my roommate moved out. Thanks!

Reading this got me excited all over again for moving into MY studio condo in April!

It's kind of helpful that the bedroom is in the main room- forces us to be tidier ;)

Wow, I never thought it possible, but this post is making me miss my little studio! Mostly because it took less than an hour to get the whole place perfectly clean.

I loved my studio. The building where I lived was all studios, built in the early 1900's, so the floor plans were perfect. It had a huge walk-in closet with a stained glass window in it... and the tiniest Wedgewood stove. aah the memories... glad you're enjoying yours!

Years ago, before moving home to the midwest, I lived at 18th and Florida. A fun, convenient location is absolutely worth the extra cost!

I'm so glad you like your new place. It IS difficult with other people commenting on how cheaply they live or what not. But they don't have DC at their fingertips :-) xoxo

I lived in a studio for many years until I met the husband. I really liked it. Glad it is working out for you!

awesome! I like studios too. I might have to move soon (loong story, but my relationship is fine), and I'm definitely looking at studios. The cleaning thing is my biggest reason too -- it gives you an incentive to utilize all your space and to keep it clean.
